[Relationship with dad]
I drove my sister out to Parkway for dinner today. I was starving since I didn't have a proper meal since morning. We had 3 servings of food with a bowl of pipping hot nasi lemak rice, a nice dinner indeed. ( realise that I am always talking about food, ahhh... greedy me hehe )

We went into NTUC supermarket to shop for our groceries after that. As we were both looking for what we need, my sister came giggling and laughing to herself and told me about her conversation with dad.

Sis: Daddy! Do you need to buy milk?

Dad: I am in HK now you know?

Sis: Oh! haha sorry, I forgot. How's your day there?

Dad: Not bad.

Sis: k then, bye...

My dumb sister who didn't even realise that dad has gone to HK and hasn't been home for 3 days. Oh well, actually if I were her I will do the same too. Though my dad has gone overseas for a couple of days, I don't really feel anything. That's bad which means that our relationship with dad isn't very good.

That's true, I don't really talk to my dad. I think in a day we will talk just 1 or 2 sentences. It's not that I don't want to talk to him, it's because sometimes when I try to be concern he will think that I am a nusiance. For instance, recently my dad has been coming home late then when I asked why has he been coming home late, he will like brush the subject off and ask us not to bother. ( so why should I be concern since he doesn't want us to? ) *rude me* =(

I think I have been lacking of communication with my dad and as a daughter I should learn to understand his troubles instead of pin-pointing on his mistakes. I am a mean daughter but I will try to be good. *promise*

Something that encourages me today:
I was watching this channel 8 program on TV today: It's about a boy who suffers from disablity due to some bone disease. I really can't believe that a 12 year old boy's words moved and encourages me. I hope it encourages you too--->

Boy said: We have to take advantage of the adversity. When my right hand's bones fracture, I have to learn how to write with my left hand. When my left hand's bones fracture, I have to learn how to write with my right hand. In the end, I know how to use my both hands to write. It's like giving you a lemon, you can make it into lemon juice through simple knowledge.

If I were his parents, I would be so proud of him. Not only that he hasn't been brought down by his disability, he uses his disability, his life to encourage others. I saw how this little boy lead his life meaningfully and we should also live life in a fulfilling manner too.

Remember- when you are in a state of adversity, please do not be put down. Learn from it and take advantage of it.
